Steam Deck Fan
I have had my steam deck for about two years now and since I got it the fan has been crap. It does not take very long for the system to be very hot the touch. I bought an external fan that magnetizes to the back of my system. However it does not seem to be enough to keep the system cool. Does anyone have any suggestions for an external fan that is not a docking station? I would really appreciate any suggestions.

1. Remove the magnetic accessory as those slow the internal fan down
2. How hot exactly does it get? Post a temperature reading from the internal sensor!

The system got way too hot even before adding the external fan. And as for how hot I don't know how to find that I formation but it gets hot enough that it is almost too hot to touch.

Your Deck got 2 small buttons on its lower half. The left one opens the Steam overlay the right one opens the quick-access menu. Press the right one and enable the performance overlay.

That is perfectly acceptable. Entertainment electronics are generally fine up to 90°C. There's nothing wrong with your Deck.

When it gets that hot my game lags a lot.

Lower the game's visual settings.
