Is info on card drops false? Hardly get any, then "no card drops remaining"
Games don't drop the # of cards they say they are going to drop. I keep reading "game drop half of the total cards" but they don't. I just started a game with 8 cards. It said to begin with "4 card drops remaining". Once 2 cards dropped it said "No card drops remaining." In the past some games dropped a grand total of 1 card, then said no card drops remaining.

I've never multi-game idled, fyi. I read something saying that can effect so I thought I'd mention.

Can someone just point to something I can read that explains how card drops actually work?

You should double check if you have received duplicate cards which happens most all the time.

Like the other poster said, you probably got dupes. You can try trading with a 1:1 bot to exchange them for cards from that set you don't have. For example, this one.

Or you can use those dupes to make the next level of that badge.

From a statistical perspective it is basically really improbable for you to get all different cards from a the selected. Lets look at a game you're playing Forza 5. It has 15 cards and it will drop 7 for free. For you to get 7 entirely different cards in those drops is

( 14/15 * 13/15 * 12/15 *11/15 * 10/15 * 9/15) = 0.1898 basically 19%

So for most games, just from statistics, your card drops are going to have duplicates in them. You'll only rarely get all unique cards from those card drops.

Haven’t seen a lot of unique drops and I’ve melded a couple times.

It really sucks when you get all three cards from a booster pack exactly the same. That happens probably more than it should.

Note matt's "this one" link to a 1:1 trading bot...

I'm glad I got any response. But everyone misread my post? I didn't mention duplicates. I have got those sometimes. But I'm talking about not getting cards, like sometimes zero no matter what.

Just today I installed and played Postal (the first one) for the first time.
I played the first mission. Left the game and checked. It reads "0 of 5 cards collected" and above that it says "no card drops remaining" now.

This isn't a one time thing. Has been on going. Usually I get at least some of what it says it will drop in total. But is it random? Sometime you get zero? I'm randomly super unlucky?

Postal can't drop cards anymore because Valve changed it so that free games can't drop cards, unless they have in-game purchases in which case they will start dropping cards once you spend money on MTX. See this thread.

What is the other game you were referring to in the original post?
