My steam has not opened in a week. It will not even go into the load up screen to put in my password.
This is a wider problem, and no one seems to have a solution for it. Not even any Valve notification about the issue, just let it roll on, whilst games we have played for, we have no access too.
Hi mate, I worked out what my problem was with steam client not opening.
I use a laptop which is connected to a separate screen. Now for whatever reason, I unplugged the screen from the laptop, then steam opens up on the laptop screen.
So I then plug the screen back in and hey presto, all is working.
However, I cannot open steam when the screen is plugged in, lol, but unplug the screen, then it opens up on the laptop screen, I then plug back in the screen and it all works.
Totally random, so, so human technology, meaning inefficient and has so many flaws and issues.
Glitches and problems with IT and software these days, requires you to think outside the box for a solution. I mean who would have thought that one would have to unplug the screen from the laptop, in order to get steam open, then plug back the screen into the laptop, after you have opened the steam app on the laptop screen is saying something about the state of technology. It is really bad, and no one has any explanation as to this problem, this problem that has only recently reared its head.
I use laptop, connected to big screen to game on. Their is some glitch with the screen connecting to the laptop, so bad human technology again, not working even when you plug it in.
So what was happening, was I have to unplug the cable, then Steam opens up on the laptop, then I have to plug back in the cable, then it works on the full screen.
Totally random, totally human tech, which is rubbish and I still do not know how to rectify the issue, so random.
So I just unplug the cable, Steam opens up, then I plug the cable back in. Its inefficient and as I say, so typical of rubbish man tech, but it does work.
I do not play much anyway, but at least I now know what happened.
Cheers \o
The problem I had is laptop not connecting the bigger screen, so I had to load up Steam by unplugging the screen cable from the laptop, which then Steam opened up on the laptop, then I plug back in the cable from the big screen, and hey presto, it works.
But it should not happen in the first place, there appears to be no solution to it either. I am not blaming Steam for it, because it happened soon after one of those intrusive and forced upon my laptop Microsoft updates.
Microsoft is going to be taken out soon. I am not going to spill the beans here, but it is coming and it is deserved.
Hey Mixxer, did you found the solution? currently in the situation and its not very enjoyable.
