No game app exe file after install
I've recently uninstalled Divinity Enhanced Edition and upon re-installing I've run into an issue. When I click the PLAY button it acts like it's about to run, the button goes from PLAY to CANCEL, then after a few seconds it says PLAY again. No error message of any sort. I've done the basic troubleshooting: verified game files, uninstalled and re- installed, checked firewalls, tried running it while offline - nothing has worked.

When I click browse local files I've noticed that there is no .exe for Divinity in the game folder. Additionally, Windows can't find it anywhere on my PC. It's a legit copy that I've purchased from Steam, but I feel like it's one of those things that just "happens" and no one knows why. Anybody have an idea what's going on?

One theory is that the firewall is blocking/quarantining the executable which is located in:

\Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition\Shipping → EoCApp.exe

So first to check if the firewall blocked it or something.

If you look here, this issue has been around since 2015:
