PS5 controller wont get along with steam input.

This has happened with several games but most recently Assassin's Creed 2. For some reason the face buttons get ♥♥♥♥♥♥. X works correctly as A, but Triangle is B, Circle is X and Square is Y. Also, the right analog stick doesn't work. There could be more issues too with the buttons I haven't used yet because I obviously didn't play very far through the intro before I stopped to try and figure out what's going on. All the inputs register properly is the Steam Input UI, and they are all assigned to the right buttons (I'm using the default "Gamepad" template). From what I can tell all it's trying to do is convert the inputs into that of an xbox controller for the game to read which is working, so where is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem here that's causing them to come out different after the conversion?

if you dont use steam big picture then go to your Assassin Creed 2 In your library right click the Assassin creed 2 small icons and click propertise and then go to controller you will see a text call overide for assassin creed 2 and you will see a another text call enable steam input click it and set to default

and if you using steam big picture mode then go to your games click manage button and click propertise and do the same as steam library non big picture mode

steam input has a bad controller system detected sometime they detected playstation controller as xbox or xbox as playstation

Unfortunately this isn't the issue, the PS5 controller is being detected correctly, but something is going wrong in the process of converting the inputs into Xbox 360. Thanks for trying though.

I'm thinking there might just be an issue with steam input specifically with PS5 > Xbox 360. Is there anyone else that uses a PS5 controller that can replicate this in a game that requires Xbox 360 input?

Alright, I fixed it with the most popular guide for AC2 on steam forums, linking some files that fix it.

So it turns out it was a problem with the game, and not steam input, sorry guys. Probably should have checked the game forum first, but I could have sworn I had this problem with other games too in the past, like I said at the start of the post, but I guess I must have been confused. I've certainly had similar issues with steam input but this time it was actually just the game. Soz
