As an online only game it should be expected that it would one day be shut down.

How much you have spend is completely irrelevant and doesn't give special treatment. Which is good.

Refund within the 2 hours. My god I've refunded within 30 minutes before because I ain't wasting my time troubleshooting a game.This way months later after it's been patched I can try again and save myself the hassle and time wasted.
The Crew is not the first nor the last game with MMO elements, that was shut down.
