adding funds to wallet

hello, through out the years i always use steam gift cards to add balance to my account or sell items to get balance, i have opened a credit card (visa) and i've never used a card in my life so i have a question how this works
example : if i have 6$ on my visa and i choose to add 5$ to my wallet cause that's the minimum amount, will i have 1$ left or does steam take fees?

$1 is only an authorization hold that is never actually sent to Steam. The small charge will be released back to you in a few days.

so when i click add 5$ to balance they deduct exactly 5$ from my visa?

they deduct 6$ total whereas 5$ is the payment and 1$ the verification charge. You will get refunded the 1$ to your credit card within 3 days.
