Steam client WebHelper using 4gb of memory

Steam client WebHelper is using almost 4gb of memory. But the weird thing is if I log out and into a different account it goes to an average of 600mb of usage. But if I go back to that other account it shoots back up to 3,800mb of usage. I signed into 2 other accounts and the only the one has the high memory usage. No games our running at the time and I cleared download cache and also disabled steam overlay. None of that seems to fix the issue.

Any idea why it would only be happening on one account?

I also have troubles as this process consuming too much CPU for some reason. Without any actions sometimes it takes about 50-70% of CPU and go sleep again. Becoming a pain, cause it makes some of the games laggy (CS2, F76)

Go to your Steam folder and look for the file achievement_progress.json in the subfolder userdata/[number]/config/librarycache. Delete it. Steam will create a new version of it at the next launch, that will work properly for quite some time.
If you have a lot of games with achievements, that Steam needs to keep track of, there is a possibility, that this file grows way beyond its intended size and takes more and more power.

I went and opted into the beta and now my steam is back to normal. Didn't have to delete anything.

Could be, that it is already fixed in the current beta build, yes. It's an issue, that has only come up quite recently. Anyhow, there's the reason you asked for: Corrupted achievement tracking.

Just 600mb of RAM now and no CPU stuttering, take all my points!

Im having the same bug wtf kinda memory leak is happening it just keeps allocating ram ms edge with 15 tabs takes 1.300gbs the frick is steam doing it need 4gbs?
