Xbox controller on PC

I've use an xbox one wireless controller on my pc. I purchased an xbox usb wireless adaptor a few years ago which was working just fine up until a couple of months ago.

I then started using a micro usb cable which was fine initially but the connection keeps dropping as the socket for the cable isn't great which means the cable becomes loose after a minute or two.

What does everyone else use to use their controller on pc?

Xbox One pad via Bluetooth. Never had a problem with that in all the years.

My motherboard has inbuild bluetooth. Never had a problem connecting to it or ever losing connection during gameplay.

I've just purchased a EasyULT USB Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter for my PC but it won't see the controller. The controller has blue tooth as when I enable blue tooth on my phone the controller is listed but my PC wont detect it. I've installed the driver as well.

Any ideas why this would be?
