New PC, Steam and Games on Sata SSD

Can i just move that SATA SSD to the new rig since steam is already installed on it? All my games are on the same SSD but im doing a fresh install of windows on the new NVMe drive. Im trying to prepare for the move and wondering if i can just plug it in.

Are there any recommendations to make this easier or less a hassle it it even is a hassle. Id prefer not to clean the whole drive it i dont have too or download all the games again.

just to note. all the hardware is new except for this SATA SSD and and the SSD with my current OS on it (of which i will be cleaning after installing windows on the new NVMe)

Steam and the game are all installed on the SATA drive? And the SATA drive was a secondary drive in the original system?

If so then you probably can just drop it in. Although it would be helpful if it was also the same drive letter as it was originally. Somewhere along the line things won't be expecting drivers letters to change and if they depend on the original one the new drive letter will cause problems. I recently discovered this with Rockstar launcher. It's still fixable or massage-able though.

Yeah, I finished the build. I dropped it in and installed steam to the same drive which led it to just update. As far as the games go. They have problems lol I had to "update" the ones installed and after this "update" I tried to run them and I got errors. I just uninstalled and reinstalled them again fresh on the same drive. Drive letter stayed the same but idk why I got the errors. I even tried validating the files and that didn't work. The update and validation took forever too. Far longer than it should given my Internet speed and the processing power of my new build.

However, when I downloaded and reinstalled the games it was much faster. Thanks though to the assist.
