Can I get some actual help from a moderator?
Can one of you take a look at the Helldiver 2 Anti-Cheat section and take a look at the mass amounts of necro spam by one user trying to obfuscate prominent threads with legitimate concerns?

This user has already been caught evading their ban with the alt they're also currently posting with on there. Flagging is doing nothing and anyone else would be banned at the drop of a hat.

This is so obvious and so serious at this stage it's actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous.

Well game devs are free to moderate their hubs as they see fit.
Game hubs will ALWAYS be moderated differently than the general forums.

Valve mods should be able to tell if someone is using an alt account. I know for a fact that the volunteer Steam mods used to be able to, so I reckon it's fairly likely that they can as well. I suppose they just can't be bothered to check.
They should be able to yeah. I went ahead and did their job for them, even other users were calling them out for blatantly evading.

The discussion has been turned into a mess of locked threads now and the user is STILL not banned.

The most hilarious thing here is I've been banned for the same reason "spam" by a developer in another game section themselves when I didn't even spam and yet this user has completely shuffled the entire board 9 pages deep and still not a peep.

What's the point in letting this rest? It's so egregious at this point it effectively makes any and all forums on Steam completely pointless. Why even produce a Guidelines and Online Conduct page if it only applies to certain users. It's farcical, demonstrably so.

I've got mountains upon mountains of evidence I don't even have to call upon in this case because it's right there for the mods to view as we speak.

There was nothing to respond to. They literally just went into 9 pages of threads, necro'd them to bury the active discussions > mods came in to lock some of those same threads thus bumping them again > nothing is fixed and the forum is now a mess.

Now those threads can never be bumped again.
All it takes is the other thread to become active and those locked Necro threads will vanish.

You don't seem to understand. The user in question has already been banned before and then clearly circumvented the ban by alting. There was evidence for this and despite the fact, they were not removed from the forum.

Now, this same user has turned the same board they've been constantly attempting to disrupt into a mess in an attempt to suppress the highly discussed threads by necro posting an enormous amount of threads that under normal circumstances would net anyone a permanent ban. They've received no such punishment.

Instead, threads with legitimate concerns for an issue that is still ongoing have been locked instead of the perpetrator being removed.

Does this make sense to you?

Yes it makes sense, but you need to let it go. Things on the internet are almost never "fair" or "just". You getting so upset about it is exactly the reaction people like that look for and enjoy. If you don't like the way the forum is moderated, find a different one that suits your needs.

Not trying to be rude here but if you really do understand what has occurred here then you'd understand the dangerous precedent it sets.

If everyone were to follow your logic and just "let it go" then nothing would get done. That's effectively why propaganda is so effective in today's world because people have been conditioned to be lazy and useless and think someone else is going to do it for them so they don't have to think about the possibility that they themselves might have to get off their ass for once and actually put in some effort.

We're not talking about some silly internet sleight here, we're talking about the suppression of information involving third-party installs that come bundled with a product that, as I said, potentially involves data loss, hardware failure and data harvesting.

I've now been banned and censored right off that forum among others while the person who smothered those topics via mass necro'd spam remains untouched. If anyone thinks this is normal and it should just be "let go" then you've got no idea what awaits you in the future.

these are not the only forums for you to post your info, though

if they do not want it on theirs, go to one that they do not own and allows it

pretty simple

Very lazy.

These are forums on the same platform in which the product is being distributed, this is a far more relevant place for discussion to take place and if you had any meaningful intentions you'd check in with what was provided and realize that the discussion they're attempting to bury has been ongoing for over a month now and has totaled enormous amounts of input worthy of consideration in order for a consumer to make an informed decision and what the culprit did in the dead of night was necro spam 8 pages worth of month old posts.

These forums are referred to as "Discussions" for a reason and they've defined a set of parameters to abide by when engaging in these discussions.

Now. Why produce a Rules and Guidelines and Online Conduct page tied to those very same discussions in order to maintain them if moderation is not only not going to adhere to them but also excuse whomever they like even when they're in gross violation of those same rules, guidelines and conduct? This would create an echo-chamber and kill the integrity of any discussions.

What happens when moderation gets buttered up beneath the table hmm? It's ripe for abuse and what is demonstrated here is clearly moderation abusing their power in order to silence criticism and again if you think this should just be slid under the rug then that speaks volumes on your character.

Look, even now the other users are seeing it, that the person causing all the damage is being flagged and flagging is not working at all and instead they're realizing other people like myself are instead getting banned and harmless threads are being locked instead of dealing with the root cause. https://steamcommunity.com/app/553850/discussions/2/4302697675609240741/#c4358995119365176116

We already had suspicions long before but this "event" has really shone a light on things.

This is indefensible.

i do not understand is when people think the company owes them a public place to complain

there are many other places that are not owned or ran by the people that make the game

that out of the way

it sucks when a company is that tight

i have ran into a couple

i posted my review and left feedback

then left

except with archage

but i was never warned or banned by them
