Battlefront II (EA) won't launch

I am getting an error message whenever I try launch Battlefront II that says:


"We're sorry, an error has occurred. We are unable to connect to EA servers to activate STAR WARS Battlefront II on this computer using your account. Please try again later."


I downloaded Battlefront II through Steam, not sure if that could have to do with the problem. I tried numerous fixes (reinstalling Battlefront and EA app, verifying files on Steam, unlinking and relinking Steam account, changing my DNS address, and more) which led to different errors which I had to fix and now I am back to this error. I don't know what I can do to fix this.

I am fully aware this could be an EA error, and I have posted it in the EA forums as well, but I want to find any possible solutions.
