Got a Refund I Never Asked For
Hello, I've seen this topic being mentioned here before but the discussion was locked. I purchased two games two days ago and yesterday I got a refund I never asked for. The emails confirming and approving the refund were also in Chinese which I find weird since it's not my set language on steam nor have I ever contacted the steam team using it. The games are no longer in my library but the money has yet to be returned to my bank account. I've send them both emails and support requests but I have gotten no response. To the people this has happened to, how long did it take for the to respond and fix this based on your experience?

Are your support tickets still open?

Your account may be compromised.

Take the following steps to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

Okay . The only thing you can do now is wait for a response.

When an account is compromised, scammers often refund games and use that money to buy items on the market and transfer the money to their account. The hijacker usually also closes Support tickets.

I just wanted to make sure that you were not the victim of such a scam.

I also found this thread: 12 games have been removed and refunded without me asking this

Maybe it is related to your issue (check out post #11).
