Can't download a game

Having difficulty downloading Helldivers 2, it reaches full completion, i.e. 21gb out of 21gb installed but after that it just stops and the resume button appears, whenever I press the resume button it immediately pauses again, I have looked in downloads and it says it is due to a corrupted disk. I'm not having issues with any other games and I'm wondering if i'll need to reinstall steam? Any help would be appreciated.

How much free disc space do you have?

Ideally you want x3 free space of the game you are installing to avoid issues.

For Helldivers 2 that would be 300gb.

I have about 700gb of free disc space so I don't think that has anything to do with it unfortunately

Then i recommend the following.

Exclude Steam in your anti-virus then retry the download.

If that does not solve the issue run a disk check.

this is most likely necessary. nProtect Gameguard is an extremely invasive ring 0 anti-cheat and might be detected as malware because of its rootkit nature.

Helldivers 2 uses nProtect Gameguard as its anti-cheat solution.
