( try see own picture from a diffrent pc, or i could not see it or did not knwo what i was looking for. )
so many settings today corner light or other effect that can do this.
lets see if other steam user dont get it or do get it.
i could see diffrence in red color and other is more orange in the game box title , its not the windows its the game box content he mean.
its the client that has color reduction on, let see if other know what settings that is.
ps.
Try enable hardware decoding for video. ( its under interface ) lets see if its that problem you have.
i have no other didea , lets see if other have some ideas.
gl wih it.
If you're using the beta version of Steam, then unenroll via Steam > Settings > Interface > Client Beta Participation (No beta chosen) and restart Steam.
If that's not the problem or does not fix it then you could always try shutting down Steam and typing this into a terminal window:
That will refresh Steam to a newly installed state without removing any of your games or games saves.
If that doesn't do it, and if toggling hardware acceleration doesn't do it, then I'm perplexed. 🤔
Its not GPU accelrations its under that with video, you might have click both in the past and could explan alot or you did the right thinh but mixup accelration with video settings , only you can recheck this.
but yeah as above user point out steam flush cmd , and hope that can do it.
we only see our own problem, do not think i knew such stuff then i was just a gamer, this was learn in scaled network with 1000 of pc, then you do signed drivers and forced locked ways, and thats how it works. ( mass scale do change our view points. )
so ask and recheck own GPU Drivers and make a clean install of them.
GPU accelration is not a new thing here, i have just not seen it with color issue only, also you forget i use client only, and thats was a nice catch of a bug you did, steam now know..
gl with it.
and dont forget we are not support here, we are steam users.
Ah well, it was worth a shot.
What's your graphics card? Are the latest drivers installed?
Originally you said that toggling hardware acceleration had no effect, but now you seem to have discovered that disabling it fixes the problem. In which case, leave it disabled for now. Hardware acceleration in some internet browsers remains a problem for some GPUs, particularly on laptops and low-to-mid end systems. I doubt it noticeably speeds up page rendering anyway.
What is happening with the client is unlikely to be affecting the games you play.
6700 xt latest drivers installed
one thing is hardware acelleration and another is the GPU acelleration
and also notice color reduction then most will only have 1 thing open client or browser, so you might not notice the color issue at all, this is for other steam user nothing to do with me.
ask any helper here , find a post with things you forgot its not that easy, old monitor with color issue and other things in howe color should be seen, its a actual a very compicated issue + ppl eye sights. ( things we take for granted here )
just so you know , there has been company that paid ½ millions in print and get what you see on screen to papir, ( noone will laugh at color now )
color and production is actual a serious bussness ( we just dont think like that here )
You need know about printing productions.
Just incase anyone else is having this issue in early 2025 after a windows update (updated mine over night on the 09th Feb) This quote above is what fixed it for me! Previously it would happen now and then, but dragging the program from one monitor, then back again would sort the colours out. But that stopped working after the windows update.
As above - UNTICK 'Enable smooth scrolling in web views (requires restart). Once Steam reboots, the colours won't look like they have some weird anti red filter.
