Is there a free way to get steam points?

Awards grant you points equal to 1/3 of their value. But you need to wait 2 weeks to get them.

Awards are the only free (for the receiver) way to get points.
Someone had to buy something to get the points to begin with.

People can give you awards for being helpful/useful to the community, and make/share content others may like.

You only get 1/3 value of the award cost given to you by others you received the awards 14 days after the date you been given the award. Example if award cost 300 points on July 1st 2024 the person that have given the award to you, you'll earn 100 points which will be added to your points after 14 days on July 15th 2024 hence 14 days.

This is your free way.


Now if want to earn points by spending, you buy games, DLCs, or in-game microtransactions, or sending gift to others via Steam such as games, DLC, or etc. Please note buying/selling items from market, redeeming codes, accepting receiving gifts, or just loading your wallet does not count to earning points. You have to "Spend" via Steam "store" what in your wallet, or using external payment method to receive points.
