Tax Identification Number
Hey everyone,
I'm planning to sell my game on steam. As I live in germany and started a new partnership I need a TIN from the US which i ordered via phone by IRS. This is 8 days ago.
When filling the tax interview, after a couple of hours I get the mail from official taxsupport mail, that my TIn is not matching IRS records.

Questions:
1) an EIN is looking like this: "XX-XXXXXXX" - in the form at the end of the interview the minus is missing - is this relevant?
2) I sent an email with this question also 8 days ago, they didn't response since them. Do you hav any experience about this?

Maybe someone can help me and can give me more a few tips and tricks i need to know :)

Thanks & bye

You'll want to contact Steam Support for this; much of the backend stuff for Steamworks isn't necessarily something the main community can help with.

If you have access to the Steamworks Development group, try asking there.

Why do you need to give your slave number? What do they need your slave number for?

Because I want to sell games on steam and the US has some rules, one of them is to provide a foreign or US tax number

If you have such issues with it, why don't you do something about it? Whining and crying to other people on a gaming platform won't accomplish a single thing.

Not to mention encouraging a developer to commit tax fraud, which is very much a crime.
