Achievements not registering properly
Hello. I'm wrestling with a very weird issue with Steam achievements. I'd do something to get one, it pops in-game, there's the sound and all. I open Steam overlay, it's there. Same with desktop app. All normal, or so it seems.

Problem is, when I check my profile online, the same achievement isn't registered at all and won't register until I actually quit the game; then Steam, its servers of whatever will sort of "catch up" and grant me that achievement, with unlock time being when I quit the game and not when I really unlocked it.

It happens in many games (I know there are some that grant achievements only upon exiting, that's not the case here) and for a while now. Anyone else experienced this? I tried clearing the download cache, Steam's browser cookies, I verified the affected games' files, I made sure my Internet connection is up and running - nothing, no fix. The problem is completely random, sometimes one achievement will register properly, sometimes two or three, at other times one will work, the next one, five minutes later, suddenly won't. When I quit the game, it will again work for a bit and then eventually stop again. Other than reinstalling Steam (though I doubt that would help as my Steam client sees these buggy achievements as unlocked), I'm out of ideas so I'd be grateful for any tips. Thanks.

This always was a problem with Steam achievements. Even if you have quality cable net and constantly check status of Steam community servers... once in a while some cheevo just does not register properly and unlocks only after closing the game.
Find "Steam beta client" community group and make a thread here, asking for additional checks to ensure proper cheevo registering (or something similar).
Feeling risky? Reset achievements and re-earn them again:

Risky part? Based on quality of Steam features integration you may not have any problems after using those commands. Or you may make achievements unobtainable (cumulative ones, of "kill x things"/"pick up y stuff" kind, are at higher risk); you'll be able to unlock them only with Steam achievement manager.

Ahh, so I'm not the only one. I've noticed the EXACT same thing, but it's been happening only this year, never before. And it doesn't happen all the time, just randomly sometimes. One thing I've also noticed is that it's only happened with games that I play with a controller (DualShock 4), never with mouse/keyboard. Could be just a coincidence though, as there doesn't seem to be any other logic behind it either. Has it happened to you when you play with a controller or also with mouse/keyboard?

No idea how to solve it though!
