All Steam Games Crash at Menu Screen, but Rockstar and EA Games are Fine

I’m a Windows 11 user and I just downloaded a few different games from my library onto a new computer. Anytime I launch a Steam game it gets stuck on the title screen and then stops responding then steam thinks it’s still running and can’t shut it down so I have to restart my computer. There is no application running in task manager, so I don’t think that the game is running in the background.

I thought it could be an issue with my computer, but games through electronic arts and rockstar do work it’s just steam games that seem to be having a problem. Have you ever experienced this and do you have a workaround for it?

I have already tried reinstalling Steam and reinstalling the games as well as factory, resetting my computer, and re-downloading and updating all of my drivers, which didn’t seem to help either. I am at my wits end!

I think i am having this same issue as well, some game works fine while other games will immediately freeze on the first frame and force me to restart the pc. Some games having issue like this are Baldurs gate 3, vampire survivor, darktide. I also dont have a solution for this, just tagging along to avoid making a new thread.

Cpu: i7-12700k
Gpu: amd radeon 7900xt
32gb corsair vengeance ram
2tb corsair mp510 m.2 ssd

I also checked all my drivers, reinstalled steam/games, and still having the same issue.

I deleted my initial comment because I found a fix on my own just now. Weirdly enough, I had to replace the HDMI wire I use to connect my monitor to my GPU. I don't know why it worked, but suddenly everything is fine.

can you tell me what was the cable you had and what you replaced it with? Any steps i could follow to try and resolve this on my end is greatly appreciated.

By hdmi gpu cable do you mean the cable connecting your monitor and computer
