Can I move GTA V files from Epic Games to Steam?

since i bought GTA V from both platforms... its just downloading it is time consuming like can i just move files from Epic Games to Steam?

Maybe, but without the appmanifest Steam won't see it as installed.

Could try starting download on Steam
wait 5 minutes the close Steam
Transfer files from Epic Games install location into Steams location
Load Steam and hope Steam sees them.

May need to Verify game files in Steam to identify and download anything that differs between platforms

Yeah. I don't know what the GTA V folder is named EG side but Steam side you want it named: Grand Theft Auto V

Then choose to install the game, choose correct install location/library if applicable, and Steam should verify the data, download the difference between the builds if any, etc

you can run it straight from there, use heroic launcher i havent tried something as taxing as gta, but other things have worked, u can save the launcher as a non steam game or launch from desktop. i didnt have luck launching with experimental, i switched to 8 and i had no problems. as of yet anyway
ill be watching this bc im curious myself, if im doin something wrong leme know idk lol

While you login with the same Rockstar account, you connect the Epic and Steam versions separately.
So your saves are separated depending on which store your launching the game from.
