Pull data from steamcharts?
I am trying to do a statistical analysis on a game I’ve been playing, and would like to know if it is possible to pull the lifetime player counts over time into a table with which to do the analysis on.

Is it possible?

I think, you'd have to do that manually. I don't see any provided way to extract data.
Also the website stores detailed data only for a limited time; with hourly results being discarded after one month, daily after three and everything older than that listing the monthly peak only.

You should also be aware, that the results can be influenced in various ways, as it's merely snapshots at given times. A higher number of total players has nearly the same effect as longer playtime per player, so if a game lost half its players, but doubled the time, those stayed online, the average would remain identical (the peak value does not react quite to the same degree, but would not fully mirror the effect either).
The website is an interesting source, but there is much more to read into the numbers, from daily schedules to update boosts, than a single all-time graph can provide.

Of course, I am just interested in those numbers though for the purpose of my analysis. Specifically, I’m trying to see if patch weeks have any significant impact on the weekly average change of players in the long term
