Anyway to see giver of "reward"?
Someone just gave the "jester" reward to three of my feedback replies on a game. We all know what that means. It's basically name-calling someone as a "clown", a way to denounce someone without providing any evidence.
But here's the problem, Steam system doesn't seem to allow me to see who gave that "reward", so there's no way to report them or even just blacklist them.

Is there anything I can do about this? I can't just continue to have everything I wrote being put under a "clown" emoji and not even know the culprit.

Valve used to show who sent the awards in the emails we received for them for about the first week or so. Then, they just stopped doing that. Why? Because Valve.

Why did you give 3 Jester awards if you are against it?

FREE POINTS - Thank you.

You're REALLY overthinking it, my dude. "Evidence"? Seriously?

If the senders name was revealed, then that can lead to begging for more points or for harassment for sending certain awards.
So no, you will never be told who gave the award.

What would knowing the "culprit" change on the given award? It was given for reason(s) unknown to you.

Retaliation it is or what? There is absolutely no reason for you to know WHO gave you which award, except if you want to make trouble after all with those that awarded you.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Maybe they got spammed with support tickets that had enraged "customers" complaining about either the awarded or themselves. :hype:

Who knows. Most of mine during that time were from our fun farming thread.

You might have to read again. I was *given* the jester award with obvious foul intent.

So you're saying the three that you gave were justified?

I didn't give any jester comment. I was given three jester "award" on three of my feedback posts.
Do you know what is "was given"? Someone gave me that, not I gave someone that.

No jester reward was ever given without ill intent in the entire Steam.

Anyone can see what awards you've received and given by adding /awards to the end of your profile URL, even if you've hidden your awards on your profile.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198332532440/awards

You've given 3 jesters yourself, that's what he's saying.

Well for example, in Discord, if you blacklist someone, they will be barred from reacting to your messages, making blacklists a good defense against trolls.
I just wish Steam has something like that.

Then that would be beyond the point. The topic now is the three (actually far more than that) I was "given". not I "gave" others.

I mean you can try to control the narrative however you want. But the fact still remains: you have given that same award multiple times as well. Is it okay for you to use them but not others?

Don't play the game if you want the rules to be different for you.
