Quick question on Microsoft Store and Xbox applications
I found out playing SoT that Xbox app and Microsoft Store games struggle to use more of my PC. I was using about 40 percent of my pc and it didn't want to go any higher. I found out searching that people that then bought the game on Steam didn't have this issue any longer. Do you know anything about that? And for the more I'm going to play Minecraft but the same issue is there, my PC is used at 15 percent with shaders and how can I fix that?

To add, Minecraft is also launched and from the Microsoft Store/Xbox App
Xbox and Microsoft store are just launchers, for the most part theres no difference between the games sold on there and here.; it sounds like you have something on your end capping your performance.

I'm an XBox owner but I have to admit that I don't use the PC side of the MS store much, if at all. However, the devs producing PC versions of XBox Game Pass games do have to follow extra design rules for the MS store version - to comply with the 'Play Anywhere' part of the program, perhaps?

The devs for the game 'Still Wakes the Deep' took some flak for this recently as the MS store version is missing some advanced graphics options that are present in the Steam and Epic versions - all down to Game Pass.

Now, you'd imagine that this stuff shouldn't have any impact on something like Minecraft - SoT perhaps, but not Minecraft. Would these rules involve performance caps? You wouldn't think so, but it's not inconceivable. Only the devs themselves would know for sure though you might get some info on the official XBox forums - I wouldn't know as I haven't used them in years.

Some games are going to be CPU limited, in that case if you have a really powerful GPU and the game isn't that graphically demanding, like Minecraft, it might not max out the GPU.

These aren't problems to fix. The game will use what power it needs. If you're getting bad performance that may be a different matter. But if you just don't like how resources are used, that may be a made up problem.

Do the users you're quoting on Steam have identical or extremely similar system specs? If someone has a much less powerful PC than you then the game may use "more" of their available power. But not actually a different amount of power than your usage. Without specific details, sometimes things people say need to be taken with a grain of salt. They might not be wrong, but omitted information can cause one to be misled.

I have a 4070 with a i7 13th gen, then I don't know the command to use all available cores but for sure my objective is to make the game use more of my pc because I simply don't reach target fps, which is 144. It is a made up problem but I'm sure you can max out the fps by maxing the usage.

What resolution are you playing on? Which version of Minecraft are you playing?

At any rate there is no command to make programs use more power arbitrarily. If you increase your resolution that would take more power. If you change settings in the game that can have some affect too.

I have an i7 12700k and a 3080 ti, some games just don't run at 144FPS @ 1440p. Lowering graphics settings can improve FPS. Increasing resolution can cause the game to need more resources. There may be a number of configuration tweaks or even mods that can help improve FPS. But you can't just arbitrarily make a game use more CPU, GPU or RAM than it needs. You can't micromanage software like that. I understand the thinking, and lots of people imagine something similar.

I haven't played minecraft so I'm not familiar with what your expectations on performance ought to be. But that's certainly information you can find out to help manage your expectations and it might not have much to do with the percentage of CPU/GPU/RAM utilization you're seeing.
