got stolen all my cs inventory
hello.
a week ago i did a rookie mistake and got a virus in my computer.
i thought i fixed everything. apperantly someone traded all my counterstrike items to another account. with a bot that does everything without me seeing it.
needless to say .*I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN A NOTIFICATION FOR A TRADE*
just now i saw a mail "your trade has been accepted".
i reported the incident. but will there be anyway that steam will give me my items back? or am i F-d?:sad_creep:

what can i do..

Steam Support does not restore items that have left accounts for any reason.

If you didn't do it already - follow steps 1-6 to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

They used to but some were claiming the items were stolen when they in fact were simply traded to an alt account, support would then provide them a copy of the item if Im not mistaken. That along with the fact that Valve already provides tools to protect your account and if one is ignorant enough to not secure ir properly then it will be a hard lesson learned.

You are free to report any accounts involved but incompetence is not compensated.

well. i used every steam security measure. thats the problem. if i had got a mail saying that im trading an item i would have cancelled it immediately but i didnt got a mail.. only "trade accepted" then i saw the massacre i had.

If system is compromised they can do pretty much anything. If you have Steam set to stay logged in they can steal the logged in token and then use it on their own system without needing to log in

Just because you are using the security on offer doesn't mean you are immune to being hijacked especially if you allow your credentials to be phished. 2FA is just an extra security layer and not a magical shield.
