Getting back desktop icon can only be done by re-downloading the game?

I had to clean install windows a while back so I lost all the desktop icon for my game. I tried various way to fix it but none really work, so I resorted to just manually re adding them (right click, properties, change icon). But I can't do that because none of the icon are even in my steam folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam\games).

Looking around, it seems like literally the only way to re download those icon is to uninstall and re install the game, which sounds pretty crazy, especially for massive 100+ one. Is there really no other way?

That's... that's literally what I said I'm trying to do in the first paragraph...

Wonder if AI chatbot will one day scrub these forum and somehow become worse at their job.
