DO NOT TRADE
If you have access to the account
Steps to take NOW to secure the account:
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)
Please review how you are logging into Steam, you somehow gave them your log in information. This could of been due to the computer being compromised and redirecting to a fake login, or you using a 3rd party site to login to steam.
The platform is unsafe!
The platform is safe, its only unsafe when you give away your account credentials. Follow the steps in Post #1
Being here 19+ years and have never lost access to my account and that includes before Steam Guard Email and Steam Guard Mobile existed.
Secondly accounts are PHISHED because the end user gave away all their account details. The account name, the password and the KEY to the door, the Steam Guard Mobile code giving them access to the account.
How? by either logging into a known scam site or sites, tailored malware on your PC, the vote for my team scam, you have a pending ban scam on Discord, free knife click the link etc.
How does Steam (a program) know it is not you when all the account details are correct? It doesn't, therefore any action taken on your account is seen as you doing said actions.
The alternative is not plausible:
1) Someone would have to "GUESS" your account name from "millions of possible combinations".
2) Next they would have to "GUESS" your password from "millions of possible combinations" and then match it to your account name with "millions of possible combinations".
3) And finally they would have to "GUESS" the Steam Guard Mobile code "which changes every 30 seconds" to match both your account name and password to then have access your account.
Note:
1) Only you and Steam Support know your account name until you give it away.
2) Steam passwords are hashed, not stored therefore only you can give it away.
3) They physically need to have your mobile for the code, or you need to enter the code.
Interesting. It didn’t happened on your account YET does not mean it will not happen on you forever…blaming the victim is so easy man
What a shame that the platform is not trying to help their customers, instead they just want to shut my mouth and treated it as nothing happened?
Do you mean if someone sneak into your house, take $100 more from your wallet and then leave a old newspaper at your front door, that’s your fault because no one would have the key of your house? Wouldn’t you call police?
Is there any evidence that I give someone my account details or virus in my computer? NO
The only evidence is that I keep some money in the steam wallet (which basically has no difference with any other bank wallet) and they were used without authorisation
You could be the next victim
Your account is compromised because you gave your login info to a scammer.
Edit: To clarify since you don't seem to understand, you gave them the keys to your house!
I have read that and do everything exactly. I didn’t see any log in from other computers.
Reason being, steam guard and the fact that the only way anyone gets the code from my phone is if I give it to them myself on top of the fact that I don't go to any third party sites or partake in trading in said sites.
I understand you're upset, you lost a lot, but if you don't learn the lesson now then you'll lose more again in the future.
They can't help you, only you can help you by being more careful with your browsing/security habits. I wish you luck.
It doesn’t matter who give out a keys of my house…so it’s legal to enter my house without my permission only if you hold the key? Then we don’t need to pay taxes anymore because we don’t need the police
What I am talking now is that Steam does not response to my enquiry.
But you expect Steam to reimburse you for your losses.
That's now how it works.
Apart from that, Steam has no idea wether you got something in return outside of Steam, aka in real life.
Haha who knows? Again, it’s very easy to blame the victim. You said that I posted my log in details so why I didn’t received any warning that my account was logged in else where? I even needed to received a code from my email to login myself every time. So how’s that easy for me to give my login information to someone else?
I am curious are you actually one of the Steam staff as you just keep blaming me as it’s all my fault
