and view them icon, ( we other call ir refresh in the old days ( F5 refresh, dont forget all icon in the slide down in windows so you actual see them, so windows system actual get a update about unknown icon, you did not tell system because you change the steam.
lets see if this is the issue

same as i told you about a box in storage basement , but you actual have no clue in size. and i never told you. ( and you need to cache aka catch the data so you see and know.
could also say you point at something you never know is there. ( and why they are blank )
i dont recall if you need to refresh windows desktop because they need a reboot pc or you did it with ( F5 )

But im sure you know what backup is now. ( our problem to have backup . )
Dont forget old advice in the book, have a trash can aka recycling bin to undo it (old ways is back today ) thing we learn in XP/vista/win7 delete a thing without have restore option is back now.
( it also help disk is bigger and faster today, and we use it as temporary dump backup as long you have plety of free work space. )
atleast you had other HD , not all is so lucky.
