How do I refund a game that added rules that was not presented prior to the purchase?
So bought helldivers 2 to play with my friend over at Philippines. With regional restriction added later by Sony, can't play with him any more. The whole purpose of the purchase was to play the game "together." Wouldn't have bought the game if this was presented prior to the purchase. I've gone through multiple queries on steam support but it gets instantly gets rejected. How do I get my money back?

'Valve will, upon request via help.steampowered.com, issue a refund for any title that is requested within 14 days of purchase and has been played for less than 2 hours. Even if you fall outside of the refund rules we've described, you can submit a request and we'll take a look at it.''

If it's over two hours you would have to try with a manual ticket. But I though that you wouldn't need a PSN account now. I'm going to assume they didn't buy it and didn't try until it was blocked. I also wouldn't count on it working since they reversed the PSN requirement which was the big time driving factor behind the refund exceptions they had.

As in you go to your purchase and in the menu where you would click for refund, there is another option for "I have a question about this purchase" in which you will be presented with an opportunity to ask for an exception to the refund rules due to the new restriction on that game that prevents you from playing it.

And now I slam my face into my desk for stupidity.

OP played ''helldivers 2'' 128.1 hours in total

He write the ''helldivers 2'' review on 18th feb 2024 and he edited his original review a few days ago

No way can the manual refund work for him

OP purposely omitted extremely important information regarding when he purchased ''helldivers 2'' and total hours of playing the game

Is a blatant mistake and for not being truthful at all

Where Refunds Apply

The Steam refund offer, within two weeks of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime, applies to games and software applications on the Steam store. Here is an overview of how refunds work with other types of purchases.

There was a time period where exceptions were being made but it's well and truly over.

This post of yours is concrete evidence

and i went to check through your steam account profile under reviews tab

Your failure of giving information like

1) when you bought the game

and

2) how many hours in total you played the game

Shows you are not ''transparent and truthful'' at all

The OP has been quite clear as to why they want to request a refund which is there right. When the game was bought and how much has been played is not relevant to their request or reasons so as per usual, stop putting words in other users mouths or painting them in to doing things they haven't even done.

Haha nice one. Okay so this "misinformation" thing is all just inside of your head thing. I'd suggest seeing somekind of a doctor or reading the post again.
Ask yourself if this "new region restriction/PS account" took place prior to my first review or at the time of the purchase or at the time when I made my decision to purchase the game soley to play with a friend?
J4MESOX4D Jun 1, 2024 @ 3:58am
OP, submit a manual ticket using the circled option here https://i.stack.imgur.com/tGEEH.png as it's your only hope and the case will be reviewed by a human.
