Bottle Necking DISK and False Game Booting
My pc seems to get worse and worse everyday.

With any downloads it uses all 100% of the disk, then crashes and stops working. Steam downloads kill my entire PC. Can’t do anything but wait 40 minutes for a 5GB game.

The bigger issue is lately when I first boot up my computer for the day and try to get into a game, I’ll click run, then it says that it’s running, but nothing. I have to force reset my computer, then it works. Also, when I try to stop it, it gets stuck saying that it’s stopping, but never does.

Plz help.

What games? What are your system specs? What have you done to diagnose and address the root cause?

Steam downloads and especially patching are disk an CPU intensive

Generally speaking anti-virus software is the #1 culprit in slow downloads as it holds the file to scan which makes things take much longer

Add whitelisting in your anti-virus
