I have Windows 7 and need to DL a game

I am still using Windows 7. I don't have money to buy a new computer. I want to play a game from my library and the Steam client no longer works for me. How do I download a game I purchased?

These games all ran great on the computer I am using, so I know I don't need a better PC to play the games I have already PAID for.

Steam will not drop support for Windows 10 right away. I perhaps should not have implied that that would happen soon after 2025 and you make a fair point of Windows 7 being ancient. I merely wanted to emphasize that Steam dropping Windows 10 will be inevitable and not so easy for users as it was for Windows 7. However, there is no guarantee that Steam will let Windows 10 live so long as they did Win 7; you have to remember that Steam dropped support for Windows 8 also which was officially designated EOL January 10, 2023.

Upgrading from Windows 7, 8 to Windows 10 is so easy a transition. However I fear for the not-to-far future, i.e. after October 14, 2025 when MS stops supporting Windows 10. For many, upgrading may be a much more difficult process.

THER ARE OTHER TYPES OF VERSION OF OS THAT HAS SUPPORT LONGER THAN NORMAL CONSUMER OS KEEP THAT IN MIND.

Steam been dropping OS after their FINAL year of getting updates for security to the OS itself, not embeds, for Windows 11, not sure how far that will keep going, or if when Windows 12 will happen, it's assume Steam may drop Windows 10 & 11 by AROUND 2030, so either before, on it, or after 2030.

Dr. Shadowds, thanks for the date clarifications. And I hope you are right about 2030. Because of the hardware requirements for Win 11, Microsoft delaying Win 10 ESU date may also be likely.

It's only a speculation, if Windows 12 pop in 2025, then safe to assume Steam may drop Windows 10 and/or 11 in 2029, or 2030, but seeing the client base around CEF this more fit in line how far chromium will keep supporting, and possible they may just support until 2032. But as how far things goes it's anyone guess what will happen when time comes to those speculation dates, unless we get news that 100% confirm what will be happening.
