I have Windows 7 and need to DL a game
I am still using Windows 7. I don't have money to buy a new computer. I want to play a game from my library and the Steam client no longer works for me. How do I download a game I purchased?

These games all ran great on the computer I am using, so I know I don't need a better PC to play the games I have already PAID for.

You also dont need a better PC since the system requirements for Windows 7 and 10 are THE EXACT SAME.

You can't, unfortunately.

You can try downloading it on another computer and starting it without Steam (to see if it's DRM free). If that works, copy it to your box. Unfortunately, not a lot of games are DRM-free, so you're likely out of luck for the time being.

Which game? Every game I try will download on Win7. If I have the game I will try and download it.

It should still work. Asked a few friends of mine that are still on W7 and all of them have no issue downloading a game.

Also, the remark about that you paid for something, I suggest you actually look into WHAT you paid for.

Thank you so much. I downloaded the iso for Windows 10 mounted it and upgraded it didn't even need to put my CD key in. Now running Windows 10 and I open steam which I didn't have to even reinstall and my download started immediately. Thanks for the suggestion it worked perfectly.

Yeah I couldn't get it to work on Windows 7 at all. But I didn't have the game or steam. I had to reinstall it and that's why it didn't work. As far as the paid for it comment, I was frustrated, of course.

If only all of the OTHER people clinging to win 7 were this easy to convince. Have fun!

Thanks for the comment. Seeing that the system requirements weren't that bad for Windows 10 as you commented got me to upgrade. Now I have Windows 10 and it's working pretty good. Thanks again!

You be shocked there people running a GOOD PC that has no idea they didn't need to buy a new PC at all only had to upgrade their OS that was it, compare to those that trying to stick to old PC that barely able to run an OS with a game, basically those using a PC from 2005, or REALLY low end PC that was never ment to be use for gaming.

Upgrading from Windows 7, 8 to Windows 10 is so easy a transition. However I fear for the not-to-far future, i.e. after October 14, 2025 when MS stops supporting Windows 10. For many, upgrading may be a much more difficult process.

Thing is, Microsoft support for Win 7 ended YEARS AGO. So why would Valve drop Win 10 the moment Microsoft does?
