SOLVED: lost email acct and cannot add phone or other email without that acct
Guys, I sure hope someone here can help me.

I cannot log into my email account - it doesn't recognize my credentials as being valid.

I cannot change my email address here, OR add a recover phone number here, without being able to get the dang verification code that is being sent to the email that I cannot access.

If I get logged out here, I won't be able to get back in.

Please keep instructions simple. I'm old, I'm stressed, and I'm trying to stay calm.

Do you have away to recover your email? Did you use phone number, or something for your email to recover?


Otherwise you have to submit a ticket to support, and provide proof of ownership. Steam help section > my account > data related to my account > scroll to the bottom click on contact support.

My advice get a password manager like keepass or something.

What do I do if I no longer have access to the contact email account on record with Steam?

If you no longer have access to the contact email address associated with your Steam Account, please contact Steam Support.

Yes, I do have a recovery code for the email account... however I don't know where it is. I have memory problems, and a lack of sleep has made them worse (I don't have the ability to search my memory; a memory is either there, or it isn't).

Thank you so much for the directions for actually contacting support. I'd been unable to find it in the maze of their help menus.

Then you would need some proof of account ownership - credit card used for purchases, cd key activated here etc.

Ok. I've written to them and included my old email address and the phone number that I've given when making purchases. I didn't see your comment in time, Aluvard, but maybe they will ask if they need more.

UPDATE: Camilla in support fixed the problem for me. I am overcome with gratitude for the kindness she showed too. Thank you so much for your advice and guidance in solving my problem!
