Dualsense controller working in all games apart from Resident Evil Village

Wired DS controller works no problem with all other library games like FIFA, RE6, etc. But for some unbeknown reason, I just can’t for the life of me figure out how to get RE Village to recognise buttons beyond the start button. Any help greatly appreciated!

May be RE8 doesn't have native support for the DualSense. Perhaps you have Steam Input disabled, so see how it goes with it enabled:
On the RE8 page in your Steam Library, click 'View controller settings' or the controller icon, then in the next window click 'Enable Steam Input'

Thanks. Have done but still not working. Only the start button and now left joystick respond (ie can walk but nothing else) in game. Any ideas?

Test the DualSense at Steam > Settings > Controller > Test Device Inputs (Begin Test)
It should be reading all inputs. It's OK?

Check the controller layout the game is using. The default layout maps the DualSense to standard/regular controls.
Click View controller settings/controller icon, then choose View Layout.
