Battlefield still not working on steam deck.
I purchased BF1 when it came out on EA & loved the game but after buying a steam deck I couldn't get the EA loader to work on it. So as I was going to be working away for a few days I thought I'd buy it on steam as it was on offer.
I tried & tried but could not get it to load.
It installs but then steam actually takes me to the EA site where the game shows but after installing & pressing play , all it does is loop back to the play button.
Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks

Ask in the Battlefield forum. Or contact EA support.

Try some of the tinkering suggestions here, as well as with other reports:

It seems like you'll need to rely on desktop mode at first to login with EA, and maybe consider trying an older version of proton.

I've tried just about all the version of proton.

Did you try desktop mode then? Does first time launching from there take you through the EA launcher at least?

Yes I can get all the way through to the EA launcher & when I press play ( no matter which version of proton).
It looks like it's going to start but then goes back to " press play" green button I think.
I've ininstalled numerous times.
Hi still not working. The way I tried was by downloading the browser extension on Firefox to trick the launcher. But even if I do so there is another issue, the origin bs. I think is impossible to play nowadays.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
