umm i don't know what happen.
i was playing/steaming ac2 on the 20th around 10am for an hour before i had to do some stuff. during the day i would come back to my computer and watch tv shows and eat. but when i was on the 2en screen i would be scrolling though steam and i had notice under my profile pic in the top right corner where it showed how much money was in my account.
before i remember it being around $0.02 but throughout the day it would go up, then down, then right back up. i didn't take anything of it now around 10pm on the 20th i started streaming/playing ac2 again this time starting off from last time. but as i am playing my phone and watch beep telling that something has been sold showing some type of glasses. i then on stream i took the time and found out that starting at 12:59 pm item after item was being sold from my account. starting at 12:59 over 125 items where sold.
plus more where on the way tell i removed them from the market. i have deactivated all the devices. i reset all my passwords from hotmail,to facebook. i don't know why i didn't get any notification tell a little bit ago.
can this happen with steam guard? is there anything at all i can do? i don't care about the pubg stuff or the cs2 stuff. i use to care about the Team Fortress 2 stuff, but i don't play it anymore. but the trading cards from all the games that i have played. everything to do with the trading cards. i had a lot of trading cards now most are all gone.
i didn't have my card on file so that was a good thing.
i want to know what happened, isn't steam guard supposed to be able to stop this from happening? are there ways to stop this from happening? besides steam guard should i just change my password ever few months.

sorry it happened, aprtner

do these

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

the usual suspect in these cases is phishing

somewhere along the lines you gave your info to someone you thought was safe

trading sites, scammers. fake steam site

something

that includes the codes to steam guard

after that, they do not need to worry

1. did that and 1 other and nothing came up.
2. they were not changed still the same email and the same phone number.
3. i did that.
4. i just now took the time and changed all my passwords that are associated with that email and that phone number. any account that was also using the same email I also change all those passwords too.
5. i generated new codes and took a picture of them and printed them out.
6. nothing showed up there the other thing that showed up was something about registering a new api i just had to give it a name. so i didn't mess with that and left it alone.

in the past few months i have gotten a few messages talking about free games and others things. i don't click on it i just close the message. i haven't been to any sites besides hotmail, youtube, facebook, gmail, my hotmail and youtube account use 2fa and i believe my hotmail and one other account use my face.

there was one file that i downloaded thinking it was a trusted file but after nothing happen, i checked task manager nothing showed up but there was a sticky type note thing in the lower part of the screen, where there is an up arrow when you click on that that's where it showed up but it went away within a second after clicking on the up arrow. after that i went to virustotal and had them scan the file and it said that it was clean not a single fault with it. so that was on the 18th everything to do with what happen a little bit ago happen on the 20th.
i just hope that it's fixed now that i have changed everything.
