Random forum language change bug is still there, after more than 15 years!

I can't take this serious, I just laugh at companies that are too dumb to fix bugs like this, there are tons and tons and TONS of posts open, that are of course now archived, so you can't even track how many millions of people are being pissed off by this, (why oh why do you close issues that are still open and force people to reopen them for decades????) this one from over 10 years ago

and this bug is STILL open, unfixed and will never be fixed as it stands now. Valve, why aren't you embarrassed by this??? You should be!

To make my point, the whole forum website being in Spanish, when looking in the forum, I found another one and.... guess what? The language changed to Dutch.
So Valve purposefully inserted a random generator that picks a random language? I can't think of anything else to explain this.

The problem is with the search engines who sometimes include ?l=<language> in the URL. This URL setting is the exact same as manual using "Change language" in the popdown menu. Searching something on Google with the Steam Overlay and clicking a link with such variable? Now your language is changed and the new setting is saved as a new/updated cookie till changed again.

Just explaining why this is happening. Personally I'm not so sure why we even need this option other than to annoy people.


Edit: Hm. The links arn't permamently changing the language for me, as I just noticed. Did they change this recently? Then, if this is the chase, I'm not sure why your language is changing. (Keeping the post up just for references)
