No key should be needed when starting the game and associate it with the right account
As said, cd keys aren't needed anymore.
* Launch game X on steam
* steam launches Ubisoft Connect
* steam says "hey Ubisoft Connect I want to play game X"
* Ubisoft connect goes "ok I see you are Steam Account A, yes indeed that account does own game X"
* Ubisoft Connect launches Game X
As such there is no cd-key necessary as that's all done in the back end. Ubisoft knows that a particular account owns game X on steam. And when steam asks to play that game, Ubisoft just checks its own database whether that account owns that game.
You already linked you Steam account to a particular Ubisoft account for playing that game. Log into Ubisoft Connect with that account
