Some do, yes.

But none would contact you about your account.

I'm getting very sketchy texts over discord(red flag#1) and they're wanting me to give them unrestricted access to my account for them to "gather enough information and to validate my account".(big red flag)
They also said I'll be perm banned if i don't comply

One, why would Valve employees not use Steam to contact you?

Two, why would a Valve employee not be able to just use Steam to see what's on your account and gather the information they would need?

Obviously they wouldn't need Discord or your efforts to do that.

Report the accounts on Discord.

Then if they happened to give you their Steam account, report that on Steam as well. Although, sometimes they will use profile links to actual Valve employees to give themselves some legitimacy.

If Valve needs to access a users account information to validate anything they can already do that without ever needing to contact you. They already have access to everything about your account
