Purchase cancelled yet pending transaction

I tried to purcahse something on steam and it said the purchase didn't go through due to an error on my account, yet on CashApp it says my purchase is pending and money was taken. What happened??

Failed transactions will show a hold on the funds and will clear in a few days, depending on your bank/card company.

the money was not taken, it was put on HOLD by your payment provider. the funds get freed up after a few days. this is standard practice. if you want the funds freed up sooner, contact your payment provider and see if they can free up the funds sooner.
