Moving where steam saves game saves (e.g. quicksaves)
At the moment, steam is moving all my saves to OneDrive, normally this wouldn't be to much of a problem, except my OneDrive storage is full, and I despise OneDrive with every fiber in my being. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!

There is a local userdata folder in the Steam install folder.

Yes, that folder on your computer is Steam Cloud. It gets backed up to a server, but that is where the Steam Cloud files are stored.
That folder has existed longer than Steam Cloud has been a thing.

do you have a source for the steam cloud folder existing before then?

Me seeing the folder, personally, when I created my account and installed Steam way back in 2003.
The userdata folder has been there since the beginning as that's where Steam has always stored the information that's still there today.

That's impossible, because Steam didn't have any third party games on it until 2005, and no Valve game stored data outside of its own install folder prior to Steam Cloud. You're misremembering.

The userdata folder was originally used to store information about a users Steam account for every user that logged into that machine. That way if multiple people were using the same machine, their personal info wouldn't get overwritten if someone else logged in.
