Help my Xbox controller keeps getting stuck

When I try to throttle up or down in storm works with an Xbox controller either keeps getting stuck in full throttle or negative throttle also My plane slightly veers from one side I assume it may be a sticky sticks or stick drift etc?

See how the sticks are reported in a couple of controller testers.
Steam's is found via Steam > Settings > Controller > Test Device Inputs [Begin Test]

Another you could use is https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad
(if you have the Desktop Layout enabled it may interefere here, so either disable it or exit Steam)

For some reason it says 0,0 even though when I try and throttle up it's throttles up but when I throttle down it doesn't it's stuck ?

My joysticks are slightly off and so is the dead zone?

In Steam's tester choose Reset Device Inputs then see if the full movement of the stick is reported or not.
Also do check in the other tester, it'll show you the values of the stick and can help rule out a Steam-introduced issue.

If the issue persists in Steam's tester after doing Reset Device Inputs and also shows up in the other tester then it'd look like a controller issue. Drift could be addressed via Steam and perhaps a clean would address the full movement not being read if that still occurred.

Last steam update messed up steam input. If your game supports native controller input, disable steam input for it

I'm rather thinking their issue stems from their controller. They were experiencing the problem prior to the Steam updates.
