INTERNET/GAMES NOT WORKING
I try to play Rust and TF2 but it will not connect for some reason. It disconnects my internet sometimes and then it reconnects just fine. It's saying that my firewall could be blocking it. Can someone tell me how to do that, or explain why it's just my games doing it?

EDIT: This is starting to look like a steam issue now. I don't know why i can't play online games. I uninstalled steam and the games. The ones that don't require internet are fine though. Steam Server issue?

You have to tell firewall that these games are safe and whitelist them.

The games are whitelisted. I'm saying it may be the wifi that's blocked

Why you are using WiFi instead of Ethernet cable?

You say that you don't have any Ethernet cable to use?

But if the author wants to play an online multiplayer network game? You can't tell him or her go play single player do you?

no but with VAC BAN as possiblity for drop out of battle, that hes choise.

If you are connecting on a military base, using military-provided wifi, you are likely coming up against a connection block due to military security and bandwidth restrictions, including a hardware firewall, separate from the software firewall on your machine.
Going through the base wifi router, you are going to hit all sorts of blocks and restrictions because you are on a sensitive system, that the DoD would really appreciate not having hacked.

Your software firewall may have the games/connections whitelisted. But the router you are going through on the base will not have the same whitelistings. You get that it isn't your machine's software firewall or Steam that is causing the issue? It is that you are using military owned and provided wifi, and the hardware firewall that is installed to keep the base system/network "safe" from "easy hacking" is blocking the connections, right?

This is definitely a steam problem. Internet should be fine

And a bunch of new 0days hit or were discovered in the last few days. You have no VAC ban, if you did it would show on your profile, quite prominently. Ask any buds you have in the barracks who game, and see if they are hitting blocks on Steam online MMOs/MP/Co-op games as well. If everyone on base is, it's a network firewall blocking you all. If no one else is, then it might be your machine or something with Steam. You know you can file a ticket with Steam Support, right? You won't get any help from them here, just from other gamers who can only guess.

Or ask a superior on base, and see how fast they have you drop and give them 50. :)
