Is there a way to use a 2007 version of steam?
I really miss those old days of steam. Is there a build or download I can use to get the exact experience? Im using Windows Vista Ultimate at 2GB RAM.

Try this... https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/0/3004424478073640362/

Instead of using outdated ones that still have exploits that weren't patched.

The old chat can be accessed by using the -nobrowser command. It will also disable the overlay.

Honestly. Thanks alot bud. You helped my nostalgia grow.
If anything, I remember back in the day, the game would install FROM the CD.

God i hate those days. So much wasted time and so much better now. No installing from 6 discs, just to finish and find out you need to download another update when you can just install the most recent update directly

Well yeah. Its just a really nice nostalgic feature that I PERSONALLY love. Nowadays, its a tince too simple.

So so use Steam back up restore to backup all your games up to CD's and use the backup restore to install them from CD's... DVD's would be an option. Steam provides the 700MB and 4.7GB options to make splitting up large archives easy.

Ah. I see. Thank you for the information.

Although if that was too simple, back a game up as one large archive and use 7zip to split up the archive yourself.
