Your previous answer prompted me to look for where on my hard drive are stored these games' thumbnails (acquired or not on Steam), but all launched from my Library. Being still under Windows 7, it's the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\appcache\librarycache
There, I found the answers I was looking for, including about questions that I had not yet asked myself: icon, header and logo for each game. So, a game has (or may have) 4 images in JPG format or PNG when there's an image partial transparency. The size and the resolution (ppi) don't matter because it's above all the RATIO between Height and Width that must absolutely be respected. This gives after creation in a current graphics software (and checking into Steam) some objects designated here by a generic name, which includes their dimensions in pixels:
1) mygame_library_600x900.jpg (or 300x450.jpg) intended for the Library Grid,
2) mygame_icon_32x32.jpg intended for the Desktop icon (or the Start menu),
3) mygame_header_460x215.jpg to illustrate the game's Page Top,
4) mygame_logo_160x90.png (or 320x180.png or 640x360.png, etc.) for the Logo which can be overlaid on the Header.
Here, I think I have done the trick ...
Protect Yourself as well as possible, as well as Yours.
And thank You very much again for Your kind indications!
