Steam api
Does spending on any cs2 items like skins worth over 5$ considered to be ok for API?, or ONLY buying any game amount equal to that will grant you access to the key? whether u buy games or any random items is equally same or not? does API required specif games only?

No and you don't need an API key either.

Add funds to wallet or buy games.

No legitimate website will ask for an "API key".

Note that this is distinct from something like bots. While I don't currently use the API key for anything (even if its more work since I have to parse webpages), giving your API key to a locally running bot is still local -- the key does not leave your premises. As such, I had no issues with ASF using it, for example, and if it turned out to be inevitable, my bot would start using it too.

That's why my account doesn't get hijacked: "legitimacy" is determined by what a site DOES, not what it CLAIMS. I use plenty of sites that use "Login through Steam", for example, but I'd never give an API key to anyone (I don't even have one right now, since I've replaced ASF with my own thing).

"Legit"... You must be extremely careful when handing out your API key as it is indeed a key, handing access over.

If you went and bought yourself a TV and the manufacturer said they require CCTV to be installed in your house, would you let them and think it was acceptable? If the answer is no then you don't need to provide an API key to a site.

i am aware of potential threat of API ..but some sites wont allow trading or selling ur skins unless you give them API which is strange..i could quote a few here which are recommended by famous and known {LINK FJERNET} this community.. guess i would be better of without it then.

don't use third party marketplace sites. The only safe way is to trade through Steam.
