Games aren't starting or stopping on my new computer
I recently upgraded from my laptop to a proper PC, primary so I can play games too new for my laptop to properly run. I was specifically looking forward to playing Helldivers 2.

When I first tried playing Helldivers, the frame rate was awful and the audio out of sync. I closed the game, checked for updates on my computer and got them. Booted up the game again and it ran fine. I played through the tutorial and wandered around the ship a bit, then tried to connect with friends. I noticed the game had froze, so I closed it via Task Manager to try and restart.

It all went downhill from there.

From then on several games I've tried (specifically Helldivers and Spider-Man Remastered) simply would not start. I'd click to play them and I'd just get a blank screen. On Spider-Man it would take me to the start screen (the small window with the Play, Settings and Quit options), but when I hit play it was a black screen. This happened when I tried Hades as well. Some messing around on the computer got Hades to start, but Spider-Man and Helldivers refused to function.

Not only that, but Steam still registered the games as running after I would always have to use a Task Manager to escape the black screens. At one point Helldivers was still "running" even after I shut down my computer for several minutes before restarting.

It got to the point where I did a full factory reset on my computer, hoping to undo whatever I may have downloaded or activated to cause this problem, but even that didn't work. My roommate suggested it might be a graphics driver issue, but I don't see how I could have gotten Helldivers started at all if that were the case. But I know little about computers, so it's still a possibility.

If anyone can give me advice please do. My computer is an ibuypower i-series 901; as of writing I just got it only 2 days ago

Atleast you clear that up , it dont match what i google that model to be,
Well you can call it sloppy sticker that dont match pc spec. ( its seen before a all in one sticker but so fare away from content spec is not a nice thing to do.)

atleast you know now and should stick to that info you just did.

Unless Steam is detecting your hardware wrong, something looks to be broken with your drivers. Steam is only detecting that you have 512mb of Vram, that might explain why games are breaking. You should have 8gb of Vram for that card. Where exactly did your purchase this PC, since you have such an old sticker on the PC case?

Have you plug Monitor cable in the wrong port its like you have 2 cards here.

i agree with hyperweasle something is odd here and vram size

well atleast we are more steam user that think this is odd.

try one of them GPU-Z app or other tester to see if they can cut though what you actual has.

Just saw that your CPU has integrated graphics. The Bios might be set to the iGPU that would explain the low Vram. What motherboard do you have?

I am a bit more confident this is the case, take a look at my video card specs for comparison.

Video Card:
Driver: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
DirectX Driver Name: nvldumd.dll
Driver Version: 32.0.15.5585
DirectX Driver Version: 32.0.15.5585
Driver Date: 5 13 2024
OpenGL Version: 4.6
Desktop Color Depth: 32 bits per pixel
Monitor Refresh Rate: 60 Hz
DirectX Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
VendorID: 0x10de
DeviceID: 0x220a
Revision: 0xa1
Number of Monitors: 3
Number of Logical Video Cards: 3
No SLI or Crossfire Detected
Primary Display Resolution: 3840 x 2160
Desktop Resolution: 10960 x 2160
Primary Display Size: 24.41" x 13.39" (27.83" diag), 62.0cm x 34.0cm (70.7cm diag)
Primary Bus: PCI Express 16x
Primary VRAM: 12287 MB
Supported MSAA Modes: 2x 4x 8x

Notice that my Primary Bus says "PCI Express 16x", yours has "Primary Bus Type Not Detected". You card should be plugged into your PCI slot on your motherboard. Since it's not detecting it, that is telling me that it's likely using your CPU's gpu.
