Dualshock 4 Controller light still on in games, even when turned off in big picture?
So is this just a thing now, that I have to have this bright light blue light on at all times? Trying to search around for this is also pointless since modern search engines are just awful and only give results about controllers not being detected, which is not my issue.

That controller sucks and Sony is worse than Apple. You need open it up and physically disconnect the LED light. You can only dim it when using with a PS4 because Sony.

if you go to Sony for help you will see automated prompts to buy a PS5 to solve all your Sony-created problems.

The thing is turning the light off in big picture fixed this issue in the past, but I noticed some months back with the update with controllers on Steam that it became an issue.

And now after being in-game for a few hours the light is off... -_- IDK, definitely either a bug or something. I just know when I open a game again it's going to turn back on.

Steam has an option which lets you use Steam Input only if a game doesn't support the controller, which means if a game natively supports the DS controller, you are getting that light because it isn't going through Steam Input.

Either set Steam Input for all games or live with the blue light of battery consumption.

Imagine blaming SCE for a Steam bug. Idiot.

"Sony is worse than apple" -- SCE doesn't endlessly screw over third party repair technicians, set up right-to-repair honeypots, send millions to offshore banks to evade taxes, gaslight people with BS computer security lectures, or sell people on a fashion statement alone with overpriced products that are obsolete by the next year. They aren't still using controller tech from 30 years ago either. If you want good gyro support it's either that or the Steam Controller. There's a reason a lot of people on Steam willingly use Dualshock.
