Is there a way to make games show button inputs for non-Xbox/Ps gamepads?
I am using 8bitDo Ultimate gamepad, bought it for its Hall Effect sensors.
Unfortunatley it uses the Nintendo Switch layout.
So when i play games i am displayed the Xbox layout which can be confusing, specially during quick time events.
is there a workaround for this?

Games showcase the button prompts that have been added to the game. Most game developers only provide support for Xbox controllers since that's native to Windows.

There are programs to force it, I think. Someone might know about it.

Though personally I've used so many different game pads in my life, that I've gotten used to automatically converting it. An xbox button prompt gets the proper button push on a PS pad from me. :cozybethesda:

the only real option I see here is to switch x/y and a/b buttons to match the controller
or really memorize the xbox buttons - maybe print out the layout and tape it to your monitor :)

See how this works out:
If you're using Steam's controller support, flip the buttons via Steam (Steam > Settings > Controller > Use Nintendo Button Layout = ON) or alternatively flip the buttons with 8BitDo Ultimate Software.

Then I'm thinking, in-game, swap the buttons the actions are mapped to so that e.g. south button remains Jump.
(e.g. Game originally has [Xbox]A = Jump, you'd choose to rebind and press your [Nintendo]B button. [Xbox]B is Dash, rebind and press [Nin]A button etc)
