Comments restored.
So I need some help. The support section is pretty useless in trying to get a general help ticket in and only lets me try to submit one for a game.

I had a comment on my profile from someone that had been deleted, and she suddenly passed away today. Is there a way to have steam attempt to look at account history and restore the comment on my profile?

Thanks.

No, steam support does not restore comments of any kind for any reason.

Unless the comment was originally removed by Support, and it was done so by mistake, no.

And even if that was the case, it would be her that has to respond to the Warning / Ban she got from the time the comment was removed, so in other words what you are asking for is not possible.

They won't restore comments even if removed by "mistake" Heck its like pulling teeth just to get them to restore a thread XD

That's really depressing and unfortunate. Seems like an easy thing to fix, especially from a big company like steam. I know damn well it's in a database somewhere and could just click it back on.

Are you sure? I know they restore posts that the Mods removed, I have had that happen many times myself.

Though I never tried it with comments, so I couldnt say.

But at the end of the day the answer is the same: it doesn't work.

The thing is: it's not your account. You cant just ask Steam to do things to another account.
If I delete something, I want it to be gone. Would be kind of weird if someone could just open a Ticket and restore it without my permission.

They will only restore posts if you REALLY fight with them, and only individual ones, if you get an entire week wiped for instance they wont touch that with a ten foot pole.

My experience for comments is they never. Not sure if its a difference in the back end. I know for game hubs when a comment is deleted we cant see it at all anymore, so its possible they cant be restored but it might just be policy.

What do you mean? It is my account. The person that passed away commented on MY account and I had deleted it. It's only one comment and I think it was just a cat with a heart. So yeah.

Yeah but the comment was theirs, doesn't matter who deleted it.

How would I even try to get in contact with them to try? None of the support issues let me submit a ticket unless it's for a game. I'd literally pay them to do it.

You can submit a ticket under account information, but honestly you'd be wasting your time

You can not pay anyone for this to happen. As mentioned, you can try to submit a ticket but nothing will come of it.
