Regarding items:
https://help.steampowered.com/faqs/view/3B6E-B322-2400-8D24
Correct, your items are gone and you can't have them back. You're expected to know how to keep your account and items safe.
Unfortunately steam wont give your items back
Why should they be responsible?
You can report the account the trade was sent to, but other then that there is not much you can do with regards to your missing items. At the end of the day it is your responsibility to keep your account secure.
As to how you gave your information away, my first guess would be by using a 3rd party trading site.... but it could also be any of the following.
Have you been asked to vote for a team/tournament/pixel art?
Have you been asked to register for a tournament?
Have you used any third-party site for gambling or trading?
Have you logged in on a public device?
Have you entered any giveaways/giveaway groups?
Have you tried to claim any "free 50$ gift cards"?
Have you talked to an "admin" after being "accidentally reported"?
Does someone else use your PC or your account?
Of course I didn't do any of that, I have never done. I don't know how I was hacked it does not make sense to me I always get steam guard notifications and to this I didn't get? it is very weird , very very weird.
All trades are final. The items are gone.
It could explain why you did not get a notification about trades
Its curious how people keep blaming the victims for hacked accounts, even if you are using the stupi steam guard system that only makes hard for the user but not for the damn chinese hackers to steal all your items :c. I feel your pain bro, it hurts but you will be fine
These scams require the victim's cooperation, and they require the victim to be unaware that they are cooperating in the scam. So the fact is you did give away your login information, you just need to figure out where and when.
There are lots of possibilities, including but not limited to:
- Third party trading/gambling sites, or sites that purport to allow you to trade items for real money. (These are all scams.)
- Vote for my team on this tournament.
- Vote for my logo design.
- "Catch $50, $25, etc" gift card giveaway scams.
- "free" stuff giveaways for CS2, Rust, DOTA, etc.
- Cheats
- Actual malware, trojans, etc.
Whoever you think is to blame and whether or not you believe Valve should reverse those trades is irrelevant. First and foremost you need to secure your account by following all the steps Aluvard posted in response #1. Next, you need to learn how these scams work so you don't become a victim in the future. Fact is you have all the tools you need to keep your account secure, but even the best lock in the world won't help you if you give the key away.
